Picking up my iPad

Subject: Pick up your reserved iPad on April 3 starting at 9 a.m.

Your iPad will be ready and waiting this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

When you come in to pick up your iPad, you'll be directed to a line for those with reservations. We'll have Specialists ready to help you set up your iPad, free workshops, and more. We look forward to seeing you at the store.

Went to the store about 12:30pm today. There was a small crowd but no line at the entrance. I told the guy at the door that I was here to see the iPad. He said if I decided to purchase, come back to see him so he can put me on a special waiting list.

Turned out not many people picked up their iPad today. The iPad looks much smaller than I'd imagined. So light and flimsy. I didn't think it was worth $700 judging by the look of it.

The guy next to me said "It's just a bigger iPhone!". I thought the same. Some other guy said a netbook would be a better choice. I didn't think so but still the 700 bucks doesn't justify a nicer looking iPhone - or a nicer netbook for that matter.

Off I went. Back to Microsoft - sadly!
